سعد بن عبداللّه، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى ومحمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب والهيثم بن أبي مسروق النهدي، عن الحسن بن محبوب السرّاد، عن مقاتل ابن سليمان عن أبي عبداللّه عليه السلام، قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وآله: أنا سيّد النبيّين، ووصيّي سيّد الوصيّين وأوصياؤه سادة الأوصياء. إنّ آدم عليه السلام سأل الله تعالى أن يجعل له وصيّاً صالحاً، فأوحى الله عزّ وجلّ إليه: إنّي أكرمت الأنبياء بالنبوّة، ثم اخترت خلقي وجعلت خيارهم الأوصياء. فقال آدم عليه السلام: يا ربّ اجعل وصيّي خير الأوصياء. فأوحى الله إليه: يا آدم، أوص إلى شيث فأوصى آدم إلى شيث، وهو هبة الله بن آدم. وأوصى شيث إلى ابنه شبان، وهو ابن نزلة الحوراء التي أنزلها الله على آدم من الجنة، فزوّجها ابنه شيثاً. وأوصى شبان إلى مخلث. وأوصى مخلث إلى محوق. وأوصى محوق إلى عثميثا. وأوصى عثميثا إلى أخنوخ، وهو إدريس النبي عليه السلام. وأوصى إدريس إلى ناحور. ودفعها ناحور إلى نوح النبيّ عليه السلام. وأوصى نوح إلى سام. وأوصى سام إلى عثامر. وأوصى عثامر إلى برعثباشا. وأوصى برعثباشا إلى يافث. وأوصى يافث إلى بره. وأوصى بره إلى حفسه. وأوصى حفسه إلى عمران. ودفعها عمران إلى إبراهيم الخليل عليه السلام. وأوصى إبراهيم إلى ابنه إسماعيل. وأوصى إسماعيل إلى إسحاق. وأوصى إسحاق إلى يعقوب. وأوصى يعقوب إلى يوسف. وأوصى يوسف إلى بثريا. أوصى بثريا إلى شعيب. ودفعها شعيب إلى موسى بن عمران عليه السلام. وأوصى موسى إلى يوشع بن النون. وأوصى يوشع إلى داود النبيّ وأوصى داود إلى سليمان. وأوصى سليمان إلى آصف بن برخيا. وأوصى آصف إلى زكريّا. ودفعها زكريّا إلى عيسى بن مريم عليه السلام. وأوصى عيسى إلى شمعون بن حمون الصفا. وأوصى شمعون إلى يحيى بن زكريّا. وأوصى يحيى بن زكريا إلى منذر. وأوصى منذر إلى سليمة. وأوصى سليمة إلى برده. ثم قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: ودفعها إليّ برده وأنا أدفعها إليك يا عليّ. وأنت تدفعها إلى وصيّك، ويدفعها وصيّك إلى أوصيائك من ولدك واحداً بعد واحد، حتى تُدفع إلى خير أهل الأرض بعدك. ولتكفرنّ بك الاُمّة، ولتختلفنّ عليك اختلافاً كثيراً شديداً الثابت عليك كالمقيم معي، والشاذّ عنك في النار ((والّنٰارُ مَثوى الكافرين)).
Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh, from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ʿĪsā, Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Abī’l-Khaṭṭāb and al-Haytham b. Abī Masrūq al-Nahdī, from al-Ḥasan b. Maḥbūb al-Sarrād, from Muqātil b. Sulaymān from Abī ʿAbd Allāh (Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad al-Ṣādiq) (as), who said: “The Prophet (sawa) said: “I am the Master of the Prophets, and my legatee is the Master of the Legatees, and his legatees are the Masters of all Legatees. Ādam (as) had asked Allāh (taa) to install for him a righteous legatee, so Allāh (azwj) revealed to him: “Indeed, I have ennobled the Prophets through (their) Prophethood, then I chose My creation and made the select ones among them Legatees. Ādam (as) replied: “O’ Lord, make my legatee the best of all Legatees!” So, Allāh revealed to him: “O’ Ādam, bequeath to Shīth,” so Ādam bequeathed to Shīth, and he was Hibat Allāh b. Ādam.[1] Shīth bequeathed to his own son, Shabān—the son of a celestial maiden brought down by Allāh to Ādam from Heaven, whom Ādam married to his son, Shīth—and Shabān bequeathed to Mukhlith. Mukhlith bequeathed to Maḥūq, Maḥūq bequeathed to ʿAthmīthā, and ʿAthmīthā bequeathed to Akhnūkh, who was the Prophet Idrīs (as). Idrīs bequeathed to Nāḥūr, and after that Nāḥūr handed it over to Nūḥ the Prophet (as).[2] Nūḥ bequeathed to Sām, and Sām bequeathed to ʿIthāmir. ʿIthāmir bequeathed to Barʿathībāshā, and Barʿathībāshā bequeathed to Yāfuth. Yāfuth bequeathed to Barah, Barah bequeathed to Ḥafṣah, Ḥafṣah bequeathed to ʿImrān, and ʿImrān handed it over to Ibrāhīm (as), the Intimate (of Allāh). Ibrāhīm bequeathed to his son, Ismāʿīl, who in turn bequeathed to (his brother) Isḥāq. Isḥāq bequeathed to Yaʿqūb, Yaʿqūb bequeathed to Yūsuf, Yūsuf bequeathed to Bathariyā, and Bathariyā bequeathed to Shuʿayb. Shuʿayb handed it over to Mūsā b. ʿImrān (as). Mūsā bequeathed to Yūshaʿ b. al-Nūn, Yūshaʿ bequeathed to the Prophet Dāwūd, and Dāwūd bequeathed to Sulaymān. Sulaymān bequeathed to Āṣif b. Barkhiyā, Āṣif bequeathed to Zakariyyā, and Zakariyyā handed it over to ʿĪsā b. Maryam (as). ʿĪsā bequeathed to Shamʿūn b. Ḥamūn al-Ṣafāʾ, Shamʿūn bequeathed to Yaḥyā b. Zakariyyā, Yaḥyā b. Zakariyyā bequeathed to Mundhir, Mundhir bequeathed to Salīma, and Salīma bequeathed to Bardah.” The Apostle of Allāh (sawa) then said: “Bardah handed it over to me, and now I am handing it over to you, o’ ʿAlī. You will hand it over to your legatee, and your legatee will hand it over to the Legatees of yours from among your progeny, one after the other, until it is handed over to the best of all those who will dwell upon the earth after you. The community will disbelieve in you,[3] and dissent concerning you with an abundant, severe dissension. The one who resolutely affirms you (as the Imam) is as if he were standing with me, while the one who deviates from you is in Hellfire. And Hellfire is the residence for the disbelievers.”
