Al-Kāfi

1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ النَّهْدِيِّ رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَقُولُ مَنْ مَاتَ دُونَ الأرْبَعِينَ فَقَدِ اخْتُرِمَ وَمَنْ مَاتَ دُونَ أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْماً فَمَوْتُهُ مَوْتُ فَجْأَةٍ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Musa ibn al-Hassan from abu al-Hassan al-Nahdi in a mafu’ manner who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘If one dies before the age of forty, his life is cut short, and if one dies before fourteen days from the day of his falling ill, such death is a sudden death.’”

2ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ بُهْلُولِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ حَفْصٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ مَاتَ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْماً كَانَ مَوْتُهُ مَوْتَ فَجْأَةٍ.

2. It is narrated from the narrator of the above Hadith from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Yahya ibn Mubarak from Buhlul ibn Muslim from Hafs who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if one dies from an illness within fourteen days, such death is a sudden death.”
