Manners of Ali, 'Alayhim al-Salam and the Book of Ali

172. Ali, from his father and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al-Fazl Bin Shazaan altogether from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr, from Abd Al-Rahmaan Bin Al-Hajjaaj, and Hafs Bin Al-Bakhtary, and Salmat Bayya Al-Sabiry, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘Whenever Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام Bin Al-Husayn عليه الصلاة والسلام used to take the Book of Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام, he would look into it and say: ‘Who can endure this, who can endure this?’ Then he said: ‘Who would act upon it, and when he would stand for the Prayer, his colour would change to the extent that it would become apparent in his face, and no one can endure the actions of Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام from his sons from after him except for Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام Bin Al-Husayn عليه الصلاة والسلام’.
