Determination is in the heart
Al-Kāfi|Volume 8|Book 1|Chapter 218
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) قَالَ الْحَزْمُ فِي الْقَلْبِ وَ الرَّحْمَةُ وَ الْغِلْظَةُ فِي الْكَبِدِ وَ الْحَيَاءُ فِي الرِّيَةِ. وَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ لِأَبِي جَمِيلَةَ الْعَقْلُ مَسْكَنُهُ فِي الْقَلْبِ.
218. Muhammad Bin yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, and Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazzaal, from Abu Jameela, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘الْحَزْمُ’ Firmness is in the heart, and the ‘الرَّحْمَةُ وَ الْغِلْظَةُ’ compassion and the harshness is in the liver, and ‘الْحَيَاءُ’ bashfulness (honour) is in the lungs’. And in another Hadeeth from Abu Jameela, he عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘The intellect dwells in the heart’.
