Signs of the coming of the end of the world

25. A number from our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Musa Bin Umar Al-Sayqal, from Abu Shuayb Al-Mahaamily, from Abdullah Bin Suleyman who said: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام having said that ‘Amir-ul-Momineen عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘An era will come upon the people in which, the debaucher (pervert) would be considered respectable, and nearness would be sought for the immoral, and fair play would be weak’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to him عليه الصلاة والسلام, ‘When would that be, O Amir-ul-Momineen عليه الصلاة والسلام?’ He عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘When an entrustment would be regarded as a gain and the Zakat as a loss, and the worship as a protracted (engagement), and the maintenance of good relations as a favour’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to him عليه الصلاة والسلام, ‘When would that be, O Amir-ul-Momineen عليه الصلاة والسلام?’ So he عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘When the women become dominant, and the bondmaids would be empowered, and the young boys would assume command’.
