Prayer of Sulayman AS for rain

344. Hanaan, from Abu Al-Khattab, who has said: Abd Salih عليه الصلاة والسلام (7 (th) Imam عليه الصلاة والسلام) having said: ‘The people were affected by severe drought during the era of Suleiman Bin Dawood عليه السلام. So they complained about that to him عليه السلام, and sought from him عليه السلام that he عليه السلام should Pray for them’. So he عليه السلام said to them: ‘When I عليه السلام have Prayed the morning Prayer, I عليه السلام will come with you’. So when he عليه السلام had Prayed the morning Prayer, he عليه السلام went and they went (with him عليه السلام). So when they were on one of the roads, there was an ant there which had raised its hand to the sky, and placed its feet upon the earth, and it was saying, ‘Our Allah عز وجل! We are also creatures from Your عز وجل creatures, and we are not needless of Your عز وجل sustenance, so do not Destroy us for the sins committed by the children of Adam عليه السلام’. So Suleiman said: ‘Return! You shall be quenched by others (in other ways)’. So they were quenched in that year the like of which they had never been quenched at all’.
