The star of ‘Amir al-Mu’minin AS

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ خَلَقَ نَجْماً فِي الْفَلَكِ السَّابِعِ فَخَلَقَهُ مِنْ مَاءٍ بَارِدٍ وَ سَائِرَ النُّجُومِ السِّتَّةِ الْجَارِيَاتِ مِنْ مَاءٍ حَارٍّ وَ هُوَ نَجْمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ وَ هُوَ نَجْمُ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عليه السلام) يَأْمُرُ بِالْخُرُوجِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الزُّهْدِ فِيهَا وَ يَأْمُرُ بِافْتِرَاشِ التُّرَابِ وَ تَوَسُّدِ اللَّبِنِ وَ لِبَاسِ الْخَشِنِ وَ أَكْلِ الْجَشِبِ وَ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ نَجْماً أَقْرَبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مِنْهُ.
369. A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Al-Hassan Bin Ali Bin Usman who said: Abu Abdullah Al-Mada’iny narrated from Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام having said that: ‘Allah عز وجل Created a star in the seventh orbit. So he عز وجل Created it from cold water and the rest of the six stars flowed from hot water, and it is the star of the Prophets عليه السلام, and the successors عليه الصلاة والسلام and it is the star of Amir-ul-Momineen عليه الصلاة والسلام commanding the exit from the world, and the ascetism in it, and commanding for the dust to be the mattress, and bricks to rest upon (for a pillow), and coarse clothing, and eating the tasteless (food), and Allah عز وجل has not Created a star more closer to Allah عز وجل the High, than it’.
