430. Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Ismail Bin Jabir, and Abdul Kareem Bin Amro, and Abdul Hameed Bin Abu Al-Daylam, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام having said: ‘Noah عليه السلام lived for five hundred years after the storm. Then Jibraeel عليه السلام came to him عليه السلام, so he عليه السلام said: “O Noah عليه السلام! Your عليه السلام Prophet-hood has expired, and your عليه السلام days are complete, so look to the Great Name (Al-Ism Al-Akbar), and inheritance of the Knowledge, and effects of the Knowledge of the Prophet-hood which is with you عليه السلام and hand these over to your عليه السلام son Saam عليه السلام, for I عز وجل do not Leave the earth except that there is in it a Knowledgeable one by whom obedience to Me عز وجل can be recognised, and My عز وجل Guidance can be understood, and salvation can be in what is in between the passing away of a Prophet عليه السلام and Sending of another Prophet عليه السلام and I عز وجل never Leave the people without a Proof from Me عز وجل calling towards Me عز وجل, and guides to My عز وجل Way, and understand My عز وجل Commands, for I عز وجل have Ordained that I عز وجل shall Make for every people a guide who will guide the fortunate ones and will be the Argument from Me عز وجل against the wretched ones”. He عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘So Noah عليه السلام handed over the Great Name, and inheritance of the Knowledge, and effects of the Knowledge of the Prophet-hood to Saam عليه السلام. And as for Haam, and Yaafas, so there was no knowledge in their possession that could be benefited from’. And Noah عليه السلام gave them the good news of Hud عليه السلام and commanded them to be obedient to him عليه السلام, and commanded them that they will open the will during every year, and look into it, and make it to be a day of festivities for themselves’.
