'Usamah was about to die

514. Aban, from Fazeyl and Ubeyd, who has said: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام has said: ‘When the death presented itself to Muhammad Bin Usama, the Clan of Hashim عليه السلام came up to him. So he said to them, ‘You have recognised my being near in relations to you, and my status among you, and I have a debt upon me so I would love it if you could take the responsibility of it from me’. So Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام Bin Al-Husayn عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘By Allah عز وجل, a third of your debt is upon me عليه الصلاة والسلام’, then he عليه الصلاة والسلام was quiet and they remained quiet. So Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام Bin Al-Husayn عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘Upon me عليه الصلاة والسلام is all of your debt’. Then Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام Bin Al-Husayn عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘But what prevented me عليه الصلاة والسلام from assuming the responsibility of all of his debts at first was the abhorrence that they would say, ‘He عليه الصلاة والسلام preceded us for it’.
