Al-Kāfi|Volume 8|Book 1|Chapter 593
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) إِذْ أَقْبَلَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ فَرَقَّ لَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) وَ دَمَعَتْ عَيْنَاهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُكَ صَنَعْتَ بِهِ مَا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَصْنَعُ فَقَالَ رَقَقْتُ لَهُ لِأَنَّهُ يُنْسَبُ إِلَى أَمْرٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ لَمْ أَجِدْهُ فِي كِتَابِ عَلِيٍّ (عليه السلام) مِنْ خُلَفَاءِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ وَ لَا مِنْ مُلُوكِهَا.
594. And by this chain, from Anbasat, from Moalla Bin Khunays who said: ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام when Muhammad Bin Abdullah came up and greeted, then went away. Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام sympathised and tears flowed from his عليه الصلاة والسلام eyes. So I said to him عليه الصلاة والسلام, ‘I saw you عليه الصلاة والسلام doing something what you never did for anyone before’. He عليه الصلاة والسلام said; ‘I عليه الصلاة والسلام sympathised for him because he will be established upon a command which is not for him. I عليه الصلاة والسلام did not find him in the Book of Ali عليه الصلاة والسلام from the Caliphs of this community, nor from its kings’.
