Harshness (of Manners)
Al-Kāfi|Volume 2|Book 1|Chapter 128
1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ قُسِمَ لَهُ الْخُرْقُ حُجِبَ عَنْهُ الإيمَانُ.
1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from those he has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Layla’ from abu Ja’far عليه السلام who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far عليه السلام has said, ‘Whoever has a share of harshness (in his behavior), belief is separated from him.’”

2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) لَوْ كَانَ الْخُرْقُ خَلْقاً يُرَى مَا كَانَ شَيْءٌ مِمَّا خَلَقَ الله أَقْبَحَ مِنْهُ.
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir from abu Ja’far عليه السلام who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Had harshness been among the visible creatures it would have looked the most loathsome of the creatures of Allah.’”
