1. Ḥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā narrated to me from his father, from Ḥasan ibn Maḥbūb, from ‘Āsim ibn Ḥumayd Al-Ḥannāť, from Muḥammad ibn Muslim, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir عليه السلام) said: Those from among our Shia who do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام are lacking in faith and their belief is incomplete. And even if they enter Paradise, their position will be lower than that of the believers.
2. Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad ibn Walīd narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ’Ali ibn Ḥakam, from Abil Maghrā, from ‘Anbasah ibn Mus’ab, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq عليه السلام) said: Those who do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام before their death are lacking in faith and their belief is incomplete. And even if they enter Paradise, their position will be lower than that of the believers.
3. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from his father, from Sayf ibn ‘Amīrah, from someone who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq عليه السلام) said: Those who think they are among our Shia but do not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام before their death, are not from among our Shia. And even if they are among those who enter Paradise, they will be (treated) as visitors in Paradise.
4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from his father, from Sayf ibn ‘Amīrah, from Abī Bakr Al-Ḥaďrami, who said: I heard Abā Ja’far (Imam Bāqir عليه السلام) say: Those who want to know if they will be among the inhabitants of Paradise should present our love to their hearts. If their hearts accept loving us, then they are believers. And those who love us, should surely desire (going to) the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام. Those who repeatedly go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain عليه السلام are recognized by us as the lovers of us, the Ahlul Bayt عليه السلام, and they will be among the inhabitants of Paradise, whereas the faith of those who do not go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain عليه السلام is incomplete.

Then someone asked the Imam عليه السلام for the reason and he replied, “Fulfilling one’s obligation toward Ḥusain عليه السلام is mandatory on every Muslim.”
