Jibril,Michael, Israfil, and Kaubil

505. Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Fazzaal, from Dawood Bin Abu Yazeed and he is Farqad, from Abu Yazeed Al-Hammaar, who has said the following: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام having said that: ‘Allah عز وجل Sent four Angels (to Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام) for the destruction of the people of Lut عليه السلام – Jibraeel عليه السلام, and Mikaeel عليه السلام, and Israfeel عليه السلام, and Karoubeel عليه السلام and they had obscured their faces. They greeted him عليه السلام. He عليه السلام did not recognise them and saw them as good persons. So he عليه السلام said (to himself عليه السلام), ‘No one shall attend to them except for myself personally’, and he عليه السلام was a kind host. So he grilled a calf for them until it was well done, then placed it near to them. So when he عليه السلام placed it in front of them, “[11:70] But when he saw that their hands were not extended towards it, he deemed them strange and conceived fear of them”. So when Jibraeel عليه السلام saw that, he عليه السلام removed the turban from his عليه السلام face and from his عليه السلام head. Ibrahim عليه السلام recognised him عليه السلام. He عليه السلام said: ‘You عليه السلام are he عليه السلام!’ He عليه السلام said: ‘Yes’, and his عليه السلام wife passed by and he عليه السلام gave her عليه السلام the good news of Is’haq عليه السلام, and after Is’haq عليه السلام of Yaqoub عليه السلام. So she عليه السلام said what Allah عز وجل has Stated, and they عليه السلام answered her عليه السلام with what is in the Mighty Book. So Ibrahim عليه السلام said to them: ‘What have you عليه السلام come for?’ They عليه السلام said to him عليه السلام: ‘For the destruction of the people of Lut عليه السلام’. So he عليه السلام said to them عليه السلام: ‘Suppose there were a hundred Believers among them, would you عليه السلام destroy them?’ Jibraeel عليه السلام said: ‘No’. He عليه السلام said: ‘If there were fifty?’ He عليه السلام said: ‘No’. He عليه السلام said, ‘If there were thirty?’ He عليه السلام said; No’. He عليه السلام said: ‘If there were twenty?’ He عليه السلام said: ‘No’. He عليه السلام said: ‘if there were ten?’ He عليه السلام said; ‘No’. He عليه السلام said: ‘If there were five?’ He عليه السلام said: ‘No’. He عليه السلام said: ‘If there was one?’ He عليه السلام said: ‘No’. “[29:32] He said: Surely in it is Lut. They said: We know well who is in it; we shall certainly deliver him and his followers, except his wife; she shall be of those who remain behind”. Then they عليه السلام left. And Al-Hassan Al-Askary Abu Muhammad عليه الصلاة والسلام said, and I don’t know whether it is the speech except that it has been preserved: ‘And it is the Statement of Allah عز وجل Mighty and Majestic: “[11:74] he began to plead with Us for Lut’s people”. So they عليه السلام came to Lut عليه السلام whilst he عليه السلام was in his عليه السلام farm near the city. So they عليه السلام greeted him عليه السلام whilst they عليه السلام had obscured their عليه السلام faces. So when he عليه السلام saw them to be as good persons clad in white turbans and white robes, he عليه السلام said to them عليه السلام: ‘Lodging?’ They عليه السلام said: ‘Yes’. So he عليه السلام led them عليه السلام and they عليه السلام walked behind him عليه السلام. He عليه السلام regretted having offered lodging to them عليه السلام and said (to himself عليه السلام): ‘What shall I عليه السلام do when I عليه السلام come to my عليه السلام people and I recognise them?’ So he عليه السلام turned towards them عليه السلام and said: ‘You عليه السلام have come to evil creatures of Allah عز وجل’. And Jibraeel عليه السلام had said: ‘We عليه السلام will not make haste against them until he عليه السلام testifies by three testimonies’. So Jibraeel عليه السلام said (to himself عليه السلام): ‘This is one testimony’. Then they عليه السلام walked for a while, then he عليه السلام turned towards them and said: ‘You عليه السلام have come to evil creatures of Allah عز وجل’. So Jibraeel عليه السلام said (to himself عليه السلام): ‘These are two’. Then they عليه السلام went, so when they reached the gate of the city, he عليه السلام turned towards them عليه السلام and said; ‘You عليه السلام have come to evil creatures of Allah عز وجل’. So Jibraeel عليه السلام said (to himself عليه السلام): ‘These are three’. Then he عليه السلام entered (the city) and they عليه السلام entered with him عليه السلام. So when his عليه السلام wife saw them عليه السلام of good built she climbed on top of the roof of the house and whistled to the people. So when they did not hear her, she raised smoke. So when they saw the smoke they came rushing to the door. She came down to them and said, ‘He عليه السلام has such people with him عليه السلام that I have not seen such beauty ever better than theirs. They came to the gate, so when Lut عليه السلام saw them, he عليه السلام said: ‘O people! Fear Allah عز وجل and do not harass regarding my عليه السلام guests. Is there no man with guidance among you? These are my عليه السلام (community’s) daughters. They are cleaner for you, so call them to the Permissible’. They said, ‘You عليه السلام are aware that there is no right for us regarding your daughters, and you عليه السلام well know what we want’. So he عليه السلام said; ‘If I عليه السلام had strength or support I عليه السلام would have resorted to a strong corner’. So Jibraeel عليه السلام said (to himself عليه السلام): ‘If only he عليه السلام knew how much strength he عليه السلام had’. So they spoke a lot until they عليه السلام entered the house’. He عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘Jibraeel عليه السلام shouted: ‘O Lut عليه السلام! Call them to enter the house’. So when they entered, Jibraeel عليه السلام pointed by his عليه السلام finger around them, so their eyesight was lost and it is His عز وجل Words: “[54:37] but We blinded their eyes”. Then Jibraeel عليه السلام called out: ‘We عليه السلام have been Sent to destroy you all’. So he عليه السلام said: ‘O Jibraeel عليه السلام, hurry up’. So he عليه السلام said: ‘Their Promised time is the morning. Is not the morning yet?’ He عليه الصلاة والسلام said; ‘So he (Jibraeel عليه السلام) commanded him to carry with him those who were with him عليه السلام except for his عليه السلام wife. Then Jibraeel عليه السلام, by his عليه السلام wings, uprooted from the seventh firmament, then raised it until the inhabitants of the sky heard the barking of the dogs and the crowing of the roosters. Then he عليه السلام overturned it, and rained upon it and upon the surrounding areas of the city, stones of clay’.
