531. Humeyd Bin Ziyad, from Al-Hassan Bin Muhammad Al-Kindy, from Ahmad Bin Al-Hassan Al-Maysami, from Aban Bin Usman, from a man, who has reported the following: Abu Abdullah عليه الصلاة والسلام has said: ‘There was a man during the era of the Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم called Zu Al-Namrat, and he was from the ugliest of the people and that is why he was named Al-Zu Al-Namrat (Animal face) due to his ugliness. So he came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and said, ‘O Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, inform me of what Allah عز وجل Mighty and Majestic has Made to be obligatory upon me’. So the Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said to him: ‘Allah عز وجل has Made it an obligation upon you to Pray seventeen cycles during the day and the night, and Fasts of the Month of Ramadhan when you are of realisation (adult), and the Pilgrimage when you have the (financial) capability for it, and the Zakat’, and detailed these for him. So he said, ‘By the One Who عز وجل Sent you with the Truth as a Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, I shall not increase anything upon what has been Obligated upon me’. So the Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said; ‘And why, O Zu Al-Namrat?’ He said, ‘For He عز وجل has Created me as ugly’. He عليه الصلاة والسلام said: ‘So Jibraeel عليه السلام descended upon the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and said: ‘O Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم! Your صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم Lord عز وجل Commands you صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم that you صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم should convey Greetings to Zu Al-Namrat and say to him: ‘Your Lord عز وجل, Blessed and High has Said to you: “Would it not make you happy to be resurrected upon the beauty of Jibraeel عليه السلام on the Day of Judgement?’ So the Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said to him: ‘O Zu Al-Namrat! This here is Jibraeel عليه السلام Commanding me عليه السلام that I صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم should convey Greetings to you and that your Lord عز وجل has said: “Would it not make you happy to be resurrected upon the beauty of Jibraeel?’ So Zu Al-Namrat said, ‘I have thus become happy, O Lord عز وجل. By Your عز وجل Honour, I shall increase (my worship) for You عز وجل until You عز وجل are Pleased’.
