So, in this narration, He عليه السلام made clear that these forty-six rak‘ahs are among those it is recommended not to fall short of, and that whatever is beyond them does not share with them in the level of recommendation. As for the other narrations which imply a reduction from the fifty rak‘ahs, their origin all goes back to Zurarah, even if they are repeated through different chains of transmission, such as:
