7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abdallah ibn Muhammad al-Khashshab from ibn Sama‘a from Ali ibn al-Hassan ibn Ribat from ibn ’Udhayna from Zurara that he heard Abu Ja'far (al-Baqir) عليه السلام say: "The twelve Imams all from the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم. They are all muhadiths from the descendants of the Rasulullah and the descendants of Ali عليه السلام. Rasulullah and Ali are their ancestors.” So he (Zurarah) said, "Ali bin Rashid was the brother of Ali bin al-Husayn عليه السلام from his mother's side, but he (i.e. a man named Abdullah Ibn Zayd) denied this." So Abu Ja'far عليه السلام became angry and said, "Verily, the son of your mother was one of them."
