Punishment of the proud

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع الْعِزُّ رِدَاءُ اللَّهِ وَ الْکِبْرِیَاءُ إِزَارُهُ فَمَنْ تَنَاوَلَ شَیْئاً مِنْهُ أَکَبَّهُ اللَّهُ فِی جَهَنَّمَ.
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq عليه السلام narrates that Imam Muhammad Baqir عليه السلام said, “Honor is the dress of God (suitable only for Allah) and pride is the dress of those who run to get honor and they are hung in Hell by Allah.”
