Jabra`ǐl Shows the Land on Which Ĥusain عليه السلام Will Be Killed to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم

My father narrated to me from Sa’d (ibn ‘Abdillāh), from ‘Ali ibn Ismā’īl ibn ‘Isā, Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, and Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Samā’ah ibn Mihrān, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq عليه السلام) said: Jabra`īl announced the news of the killing of Ḥusain عليه السلام to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم in the house of Um Salamah. While Jabra`īl was with the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, Ḥusain عليه السلام entered. Jabra`īl said to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, “Verily your nation will kill him.” The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “Show me the dust on which his blood will be shed.” Therefore, Jabra`īl took a handful of that dust and it was a red-coloured dust. Um Salamah kept that dust until she died.
