“TAQŠǏR” of the Obligatory Prayers and Performing Voluntary Prayers During Ziyārah

1. My father and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan both narrated to me from Ḥusain ibn Ḥasan ibn Abān, from Ḥusain ibn Sa’īd, from Qāsim ibn Muḥammad Al-Jawhari, from ‘Ali ibn Abī Ḥamzah, who said: I asked the Righteous Slave (Imam Kāżim عليه السلام) about going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali عليه السلام. Imam عليه السلام replied, “I do not want you to abandon it.” I asked, “What is your opinion about establishing voluntary prayers there if I am a MUQASSIR?” Imam عليه السلام replied, “You can establish as many voluntary prayers as you like in Masjid Al-Ḥarām, in the Mosque of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and next to the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام. Verily I love (doing) that.” I asked, “Can I establish voluntary prayers next to the grave of Ḥusain عليه السلام during the day?” Imam عليه السلام replied, “Yes.”
