The Seventieth Assembly, the Assembly of Tuesday, the Twenty-Seventh of Jumada al-Ula, 368 AH.

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil رضي الله عنه narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Husayn al-Sa`d Abadi narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Khalid. He said: Abu’l Qasim al-Kufi narrated to us from Hannan b. Sadir from his father. He said: I said to Abi Ja`far al-Baqir عليه السلام: ’Can a son pay back (for the favors of) a father?’ The Imam replied, ‘There is no payment for him except two things: if the father is a slave and the son buys him and sets him free, or the father is in debt and the son pays it off.’
