Women’s Using Medicine to Have Hayd (menses) after It Stops

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from Rifa‘ah ibn Musa al-Nakhkhas who has said the following: “I once asked Musa ibn Ja‘far عليه السلام, about the case of a slave-girl I purchased. She lives with me for several months without experiencing Hayd (menses) but not because of old age. Other women examine her and tell me that she is not pregnant. Can I have intercourse with her? He (the Imam) said, ‘Hayd (menses) is sometimes blocked by air without pregnancy. It is not harmful if you touch her vagina? I then asked if she is pregnant what then? He (the Imam) said, ‘If you like you can benefit from other than vagina?”
