Obligation of Friday Salah (prayer)

6. Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from all from Flammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far عليه السلام, has said, ‘From one Friday to the next Friday Allah has made thirty- five Salah (prayer) obligatory. Of these one is made obligatory to be performed in congregation and that is Friday Salah (prayer). He has exempted nine kinds of people: Of such people are children, the elderly, the insane, the travelers, the slaves, the women, people suffering from illness, the blind and those who live beyond two farsakh.’”
