Rules about Profits after Paying Zakat

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Jumhur from his father from Yunus from ‘Abd al-Hamid ibn ‘Awwad who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, about a man who has a certain asset which remains in his possession for one year, then he gains other assets before the passing of one year. He (the Imam) said, ‘When one year passes with the first asset, pay Zakat for both assets.’”
