Chapter on the Virtue of Good Deeds
Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh|Volume 2|Book 1|Chapter 11
The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace be upon him and his family) said: "The best charity is that given when one is financially capable. Begin with those under your care. The upper hand (the giver) is better than the lower hand (the receiver), and Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty, does not reproach for sufficiency."
