Chapter on the Virtue of Fasting

Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: "Whoever fasts for the sake of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty, on a hot day and experiences thirst, Allah سبحانه وتعالى appoints a thousand angels to wipe his face and give him glad tidings until he breaks his fast. When he breaks his fast, Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty, says: 'How pleasant is your fragrance and your soul! O My angels, bear witness that I have forgiven him.'”
