Chapter on the Reward of Fasting in Sha’ban

Amr ibn Khalid narrates from Abu Ja‘far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام, who said: "The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would fast Sha‘ban and the Month of Ramadan together without separating them, but he would forbid people from joining them together. He used to say: ‘They are the months of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, and they are an expiation for the sins committed before and after them.’”
