Chapter on What a Person Should Say When Performing Hajj or Tawaf on Behalf of Another

It was narrated from Muthanna ibn Abdul-Salam, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, regarding a person performing Hajj on behalf of someone else. Should he mention that person’s name at every station? Imam عليه السلام said: "If he wishes, he may do so, and if he wishes, he may not. Allah سبحانه وتعالى knows that he has performed Hajj on their behalf. However, he should mention the person's name when offering the sacrifice (udhiyah) at the time of slaughter."
