Chapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding Performing Hajj Before Gaining Knowledge
Umar ibn Udhaynah narrated: I wrote to Abu Abdullah عليه السلام asking about a man who performed Hajj without knowing or recognizing this [truthful] matter. Then Allah سبحانه وتعالى blessed him with understanding and adherence to it. Is the Hajj of Islam still obligatory upon him? Imam عليه السلام replied: "He has fulfilled the obligation of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, but performing Hajj again is more beloved to me."
