Chapter on What Necessitates Discretionary Punishment, Legal Punishment, Stoning, Execution, and Exile in Adultery
In the narration of Aṣim from Muhammad ibn Muslim, he said: I asked Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام about a man who commits adultery but has not consummated marriage with his wife. Is he considered muhsan (legally married and liable for stoning)? Imam عليه السلام replied: "No, and not with a bondwoman (amah) either."
