Al-’Ttikaf (Fasting for Three Days while Staying in a Masjid)

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Dawud ibn al-Huseen from abu al-‘Abbas who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, has said, ‘The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم performed I'tikaf in the first ten days of the month of Ramadan. In the second year it was in the second ten days and then in the third year in the last ten days of the month of Ramadan. Thereafter it was all the time in the last ten days of the month of Ramadan.’”
