The Merits of Shaʿbān

Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm b. Isḥāq al-Ṭāliqānī narrated to us, saying that Aḥmad b. Muḥammad al-Hamadānī narrated to him among others, saying that ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. Faḍḍāl informed him among others, from his father, who said that he heard ʿAlī b. Mūsā al-Riḍā عليهما السلام saying: “Whoever seeks the forgiveness of Allāh تبارك وتعالى seventy times in Shaʿbān, Allāh will forgive him for his sins even if they number the count of the stars.”
