The Merits of Shaʿbān

Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥusayn b. Aḥmad b. Ḥamūwayh b. ʿUbayd al-Nīshābūrī al-Warrāq narrated to us, saying that Muḥammad b. Ḥamdūn b. Khālid narrated to him among others, saying that al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaymān narrated to him among others, saying that Ibn Wahb narrated to him among others, saying that Ibn Abī Lahīʿa, Mālik b. Anas, and ʿAmrū b. al-Ḥārth informed him, and so did al-Naṣr inform him among others, saying that Abū Salama b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to him, from ʿĀʾisha, the wife of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله, who said: “I did not see the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله fasting more often in any month than he did in Shaʿbān.”
