Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān
Faḍāʾil al-Ashhur al-Thalātha|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 1
Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan b. Aḥmad b. al-Walīd رضي الله عنه narrated to us, saying that al-Ḥusayn b. al-Ḥasan narrated to him among others, from al-Ḥusayn b. Saʿīd, from Ibn Abī ʿUmayr, from Jamīl b. Ṣāliḥ, from Muḥammad b. Marwān, who said: “I heard al-Ṣādiq, Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad عليه السلام, saying: “Indeed, for Allāh تعالى there is—on every night of the month of Ramaḍān—(the responsibility of) freeing and releasing people from the Fire, except for those who break their fast on an intoxicant. When the last night occurs, Allāh frees as many people (from Perdition) as He has done throughout the rest of the month.”
