Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān
Faḍāʾil al-Ashhur al-Thalātha|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 1
Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm b. Isḥāq narrated to us, saying that Aḥmad b. Muḥammad al-Hamadānī informed him among others, from ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. Faḍḍāl, from his father, from Abī’l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Mūsā al-Riḍā عليه السلام that he said: “Verily, for Allāh تبارك وتعالى are angels acting as agents for the men and women who fast, and they caress these people with their wings, thereby removing their sins from them. Also for Allāh تبارك وتعالى are angels who have been assigned to seek forgiveness on behalf of fasting men and women, and no one knows the number of these angels except Allāh عز وجل.”
