Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān
Faḍāʾil al-Ashhur al-Thalātha|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 1
Al-Ḥusayn b. Aḥmad b. Idrīs narrated to us, from his father, from ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿĀmir, saying that his father narrated to him, from al-Riḍā عليه السلام, who said: “When it is the Day of Reckoning, the months shall be brought forth to the gathering, fronted by the month of Ramaḍān which is furnished with every beautiful ornament, and it will be situated between the months—on that Day—like the way in which the Moon is situated between the stars. The people of the throng will say to one another: “We would have loved it if we recognised these forms!,” so a caller from Allāh جل جلاله shall call: “O’ gathering of creatures! These forms are the months whose number with Allāh is twelve months in the Book of Allāh from the day He created the Heavens and the Earth—their liege and the most virtuous one of them is the month of Ramaḍān—My month, the virtue of which has been made manifest so that you may recognise it over the other months and so it will intercede for those who fasted from among My male and female servants, and I shall accept its intercession for them.”
