Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān
Faḍāʾil al-Ashhur al-Thalātha|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 1
My father رضي الله عنه narrated to us, saying that Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā al-ʿAṭṭār narrated to us, from Sahl b. Ziyād al-Ādamī, from Bakr b. Ṣāliḥ, from Muḥammad b. Sinān, from ʿUmar b. Yazīd, from Yūnus b. Ẓibyān, who reported that Abū ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام has said: “Whoever fasted for the sake of Allāh عز وجل for a day in severe heat that afflicts him with thirst, Allāh shall appoint a thousand angels to caress his face and give him glad tidings until he breaks his fast, which is when Allāh عز وجل will say: “How naturally sublime is your scent and your spirit! O’ My angels, bear witness that I have forgiven him!”
