4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Khalaf ibn Hammad from those who narrated to him who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, once sent the son of his brother for something he needed. He returned when abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, had applied lime paste. He (the Imam) said, ‘Apply lime paste.’ He said, ‘Only three days ago I had applied it.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, said, ‘Applying lime is purifying.’”
