Surah Yusuf – Verse 103
103. “And most people will not believe, though you desire it.”
The Arabic term (harasa) refers to an intense desire for something and the struggle to attain it. The prophets were zealous, sympathetic, and eager in their efforts to guide others to the Right Path and the fact that people did not accept the faith does not imply that the prophets had failed or that they had any shortcomings. This refusal is due to man’s liberty and freedom of choice itself which he employs in his reluctance to accept the faith. Therefore, most people have been repeatedly criticized by the Qur’an from the ideological and religious perspective.
The verse says:
“And most people will not believe, though you desire it.”
However, receiving these clear signs revealed and hearing these divine admonitions all people must believe and return to the right path, but in spite of the desist of the Prophet, most of them do not believe.
