The explanation is that it refers to qazz from goats, not pure silk qazz. The narrations have prohibited wearing brocade (dibaj), silk, and pure silk (ibrisim) and praying in them for men. However, there is an allowance for women to wear such materials, though it does not extend to praying in them. The prohibition on praying in pure silk applies generally to both men and women, unless a specific exception has been made for women regarding prayer as there has been for wearing it. For men, wearing silk and brocade is only permitted in times of war. It is also permissible even if it contains images. This was narrated by Sama’a ibn Mehran from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq عليه السلام.
