فالوجه في هذا الخبر انه إنما نهاه عن المعاودة الى مثله لان ذلك فعل من لا يصلي النوافل ولا ينبغي الاستمرار على ترك النوافل وإنما يسوغ ذلك عند العوارض والعلل على ما بيناه والذي يزيد ذلك بيانا ما رواه
Thus, the interpretation of this report is that he only forbade him from returning to doing the same again because that behaviour resembles the action of one who neglects the supererogatory (nafilah) prayers, and it is not appropriate to persist in abandoning the nafilah. It is only permissible to do so in cases of necessity, obstacles, or illness, as we have previously explained. What further clarifies this is what has been narrated:
