The saying of the Imam عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “Its small and its large are counted,” means those animals over which a full year has passed. Such an animal may still be considered small in relation to another animal that is older than it. The Imam عليه السلام, peace be upon him, did not intend young sheep over which a full year had not passed, according to what we have already presented, and we will clarify this afterwards, if Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, wills.
