Chapter on One Who Becomes Muslim in Month of Ramadan, and the Ruling of One Who Reaches Puberty in It, and One Who Dies after Having Fasted Part of It or Not Having Fasted Anything from It

Do you not see that the Imam عليه السلام, peace be upon him, only commanded the one who missed (month of) Ramadan to give charity, without making it up, and Imam عليه السلام attributed making it up and charity to himself? For if it had not been by way of recommendation (istihbab), Imam عليه السلام would not have specified himself with that; rather, Imam عليه السلام would have made it general for anyone who shared with him in that, just as Imam عليه السلام attributed it to himself.
