On Various Traditions From Imam Ali Ibn Musa al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم

28-72 (The author of the book narrated) my father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Sa’d ibn Abdullah quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, on the authority of Musa ibn Al-Qasim al-Bajali, on the authority of Ali ibn Asbat, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Al-Jahm, on the authority of Abul Hassan صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم that the Commander of the Faithful صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “No one but a donkey would reject honoring and respect.” Al-Hassan ibn Al-Jahm asked, “What is mean by that?” The Imam صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “I mean things like making room for someone in a meeting or offering someone some perfume.”
