On Various Traditions From Imam Ali Ibn Musa al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم

28-81 Abul Qasim Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Imran ad-Daqqaq - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Abi Abdillah al-Kufi quoted on the authority Sahl ibn Ziyad al-Adami, on the authority of Abdul Azeem ibn Abdullah Al-Hassani, on the authority of his Master Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Muhammad ibn Ali صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his forefathers صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of Al-Hussein ibn Ali صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم that God’s Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “Abu Bakr is like my ears, Umar is like my eyes and Uthman is like my heart.”Al-Hussein ibn Ali صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم added, “The next day I went to see him when the Commander of the Faithful (Ali ibn Abi Talib صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم), Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman were present. I asked the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, “O father Yesterday you said something about these companions. What did you mean?” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “Yes.” And the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم pointed at them and added, “They are my ears, eyes and heart.” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم pointed at Ali ibn Abi Talib صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and said, “And they will be asked about my Trustee that is him.” Then he صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم added, “Indeed the Honorable the Exalted God says, ‘…for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).’ I swear by the Honor of my Lord that all my nation on will be held up on the Resurrection Day and questioned about his Mastery. That is what is meant when the Honorable the Exalted God says, ‘But stop them, for they must be asked.’ “
