Various Traditions From al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم

30-22 Abu Asad Abdus-Samad ibn Abdush-Shahid Al-Ansari - may God be pleased with him - narrated in Samarqand that his father quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Alawi al-Mousawi, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his uncle Al-Hassan ibn Ishaq, “I heard my uncle Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم narrate on the authority of his father صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his grandfather صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of the Commander of the Faithful صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم that God’s Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, ‘Anyone who adopts a religion without hearing what he must hear would be condemned to destruction by God. Whoever adopts a religion through means other than what the Honorable the Exalted God has provided for His creatures, is a polytheist. The trustworthy means to adopt a religion is to follow the Blessed the Sublime God’s revelations to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم.”
