Various Traditions From al-Ridha

30-27 Muhammad ibn Ja’far ibn Masroor - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Al-Hussein ibn Muhammad ibn Aamir quoted on the authority of Mo’ala ibn Muhammad al-Basri, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ that he had heard Abul Hassan Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم say, “A generous person is close to God, close to Paradise, close to the people and distant from the Fire. However, a stingy person is distant from Paradise, distant from the people and close to the Fire.” He also narrated that he had heard Abul Hassan Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم say, “Generosity is a tree rooted in Paradise with its branches extended out all over this world. Whoever grabs onto one of its branches will go to Paradise.’”
