Reward of a fast in the month of Shaban
Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl|Volume 1|Book 2|Chapter 129
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ سَمَاعَهَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع هَلْ صَامَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ آبَائِکَ شَعْبَانَ فَقَالَ خَیْرُ آبَائِی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص صَامَهُ.
10. And from the previous chain from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from Uthman b. Isa from Sama’a b. Mihran who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq عليه السلام, “Did any of your ancestors fast during the month of Shaban?” Imam عليه السلام replied, “Yes, my greatest ancestor the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم fasted in Shaban.”
