6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from abu Ayyub from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah عليه السلام, ‘When the time for obligatory Salah (prayer) comes, can I perform optional Salah (prayer) or begin with obligatory Salah (prayer)?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘It is better to begin with the obligatory Salah (prayer).”’
