Loan Is Protection for Zakat

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal and al-Hajjal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from Ibrahim al-Sindiy from Yunus ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once heard abu ’Abd Allah عليه السلام, say, ’Lending a loan to a believer is a great gain which hastens reward. If he earns, he pays you back; but if he dies before paying, you can count it as payment of Zakat.’”
