Sleeping travelers as a metaphor for worldly life
Nahj al-Balāgha|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 64
٦٤. وَقَالَ (عليه السلام): أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا كَرَكْبٍ يُسَارُ بِهِمْ وَهُمْ نِيَامٌ.
64. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: The people of the world are like travellers who are being carried while they are asleep.
